President Barack Obama "You can't understand America without understanding jazz - and you can't understand jazz, without understanding Dave Brubeck."

Obama on Chick Corea, "There is something fearless and truth-telling about his music, that's what's attracted a global audience to his music - it speaks to our universal humanity: the restlessnes that stirs in every soul a desire to create1

with-out boundaries."

We had been doing our" Tribute To Dave Brubeck"for a while and after Chick Corea passed,

we found out how close he and Dave Brubeck  were, and  how much they both admired each other. Chick Corea had even written a tune "Waltz For Dave." Their families often hung out together and Chick was the Brubeck family's favorite pianist. Chick authored the liner notes to the first Brubeck Family recording and even went out of his way to re-route a tour so he could perform a salute to Dave at the Dave Brubeck Memorial concert. This gave us the impetus to include Chick Corea's music in our tribute to Brubeck.
